Concept Map

The Concept Map of Human Peace

Through the integrative concept of Human Peace, the Center links personal, social, and world peace in multilayered and complex ways, and explores the human conditions and institutional possibilities of optimal peace / optimal well-being (pax optimus) across the inner and the outer, mind and body, the individual and society, and nature and the world.

Strategy

Rethinking Scholarship:
Toward Uni-disciplinarity

To this end, we move beyond mono-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary approaches toward trans-disciplinarity (通/統分科) and uni-disciplinarity (通/統學問; uni-disciplinary = university), aiming at the restoration of all-disciplinary learning: the one unified learning that is the original meaning of the university (大學).

  1. Step 1 Mono-disciplinary
  2. Step 2 Multi-disciplinary
  3. Step 3 Trans-disciplinary 通/統分科
  4. Step 4 Uni-disciplinary = university
  5. Step 5 All-disciplinary

Stages to move beyondStages we pursue

Toward the Third Axial Age

Beyond the First and Second Axial Ages,
we aim to mark the starting point of a revolution
in thought and scholarship toward a Third Axial Age.

Types A–E

Five Axial Domains · Types A–E

Through this comparative analysis, we seek to present, in theory and in practice, the structure and conditions of Human Peace and the state of optimal peace.
